We'll help you become a health care hero.
Employment in nursing careers is projected to grow by 12% for Registered Nurses and
11% for Licensed Practical Nurses through 2028, adding nearly 450,000 jobs, according
to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This rapid employment growth is due to several factors, including a growing emphasis
on preventive care, increasing rates of chronic conditions and an aging population.
To meet demand, health care providers are constantly looking for well trained, qualified
professionals to care for patients. Nursing careers are personally and professionally
rewarding, and opportunities vary according to job responsibilities, patient groups,
professional settings and educational requirements.
North Central's nursing program utilizes a combination of classroom, clinical and
lab experience to provide students a hands-on educational experience. The National
Council of State Boards of Nursing ranked North Central among the best nursing schools in the state, and in the top tier of ADN-RN programs
nationwide.
Choose the degree that’s right for you, then let us help you become a health care
hero.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN-RN)
Registered Nurses often work independently to develop and implement patient care plans
in a variety of health care settings. RNs can provide higher levels of patient care
and have more responsibilities than Licensed Practical Nurses.
Graduates of North Central's ADN-RN program are prepared to sit for the National Council
Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), which they pass at rates above the state and national
average.
Practical Nurse Certificate (PN-LPN)
Licensed Practical Nurses practice under the supervision of Registered Nurses in a
variety of health care settings. LPNs provide direct care for stable individuals with
acute and chronic illnesses.
Graduates are prepared to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN)
and, upon successful completion, begin practice as entry-level Licensed Practical
Nurses.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN)
North Central's partnership with Davenport University provides NCMC nursing graduates
with a structured pathway to earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN).
Davenport University's BSN completion program is designed for graduates of North Central's three-year Associate Degree in Nursing
(ADN) program* as well as other registered nurses seeking to continue their education.
