Timberwolves Thrive is a FREE four-week hybrid summer program designed to provide recent high school graduates and adult learners with the opportunity to improve English & math skills, learn study strategies, connect with NCMC staff, and be college-ready for Fall 2025.
Program Schedule
- July 28 - August 22, 2025
- Four weeks of English, Math & College Readiness in a hybrid format at NCMC's main campus in Petoskey.
- In-Person Sessions: Mondays & Wednesdays with additional online learning in math & English.

Timberwolves Thrive is completely FREE, with no cost for tuition, or textbooks.
Who is eligible to participate?
Any student new or returning to college in the Fall of 2025 and has earned a high school diploma or GED is eligible to participate.
How do I register?
Please register online in advance so that sufficient resources are available. Space is limited.

Any student who is new to college in the Fall of 2025 and has earned a high school diploma or GED. It is also open to returning learners who have been out of school for two or more years.

No. Students can be pursuing any degree or certificate.
No. All new students are welcome regardless of the Michigan institution they plan to attend. However, to access NCMC's learning management system, each student will need to apply and be accepted at NCMC. There is no cost to apply. Please note that the laptop is awarded only to students who complete the course, register for fall classes at NCMC, and stay enrolled.

To receive awards, students will have to complete the entire program that includes online assignments.
No. A completed registration form is all that is required. Support from school staff is encouraged to help students to register and to commit to completion.
